From Monday 31st March I’ll be working from The Portland Square Clinic, teaching Alexander Technique, offering remedial and sports massage and 1-1 yoga sessions. Come and find me there, 27 Portland Square, Bristol, BS2 8SA.
My Work at The Portland Square Clinic
Alexander Technique: 1-1 and group sessions. To kick it all off you can join an introduction to the Alexander Technique on Monday, 31st March 6.30-8pm at the Portland Square Clinic. Find out more about how this work can revolutionise your approach to “good posture” and how you go about doing just about any activity you love, from driving to singing to yoga to playing an instrument Book Here.
Yoga: 1-1 Sessions: Individual yoga classes are a great way to learn how to modify and adapt your practice in a way that works for you. Whether you are recovering from an injury, are brand new to yoga and don't feel ready for a group class yet, or are a seasoned yogi with a particular focus you'd like support with: Email me to book at movingformsyoga@gmail.com or come to a class.
Remedial + sports massage: Still £35 for 1 hour while finalise my qualification (until April 30th 2025). I bring my knowledge of yoga and Alexander Technique to your session to give insight into the postural assessment and post-treatment advice. What are the benefits?
Sports and remedial massage is a targeted treatment that addresses musculoskeletal issues to relieve pain, enhance performance and improve overall function in athletes and non-athletes alike.
This is often the massage of choice for professional athletes and active individuals but is suitable for anyone recovering from injury, experiencing postural issues or seeking relief from muscular discomfort or tension.
Treatment includes postural assessment and post treatment advice for strengthening and stretching and addressing muscle imbalance.
This kind of massage doesn't skip over the importance of relaxation, which is SO good for so many of our systems; nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive - the list goes on! So, although I'll use deep tissue and sports massage techniques where needed and agreed, there is always an element of relaxation and comfort in treatments.
Note: Mondays are from the Portland Square Clinic - Tuesday and Fridays are from my home clinic

About me

I’m a yoga teacher, Alexander Technique teacher and Remedial and Sports Massage therapist.
I have encountered and pursued my training in each of these disciplines through my journey of understanding how we can move and live well, and how to share that learning with my students and clients. The three systems work so well together:
Yoga: The art and science of yoga helps us maintain strength, flexibility and balance in our mind and body and gives us a field to explore ourselves as human beings in relationship with our community and environment. I can work 1-1 with you to support your yoga practice goals and interests or you can come to one of my term time group classes - Tuesday Mornings, 9-10am at the Scout Hut, BS7 9BJ or Thursday evenings 7.30-8.30pm at BristolYogaSpace.
Alexander Technique: The Alexander Technique is often thought of as a tool for good posture, but this work is so much broader, offering a set of thinking technologies and principles that you can apply to overcoming any unhelpful habits of thought and body (including posture!) in order to find more ease and prevent injury during the activities you love or do repetitively, from yoga to singing to playing an instrument or sitting at desk and typing. I teach this work in groups, workshops or 1-1. The next introduction session is Monday 31st March, 6.30-8pm at The Portland Clinic, 27, Portland Square, BS2. Learn more here.
Remedial and Sports Massage: My journey in remedial & sports therapy was led by a desire to understand and support the journey to recovery for students who arrive in class with old and new injuries. This work has given me further insight into patterns of movement and the practical hands-on experience to ease muscular tension, promote recovery from injury and give guidance on improving performance. You can find me at The Portland Clinic on Mondays for massage therapy or from my home treatment room on Fridays. Find out more and book a session here.
